To Say that Still
After this long of a time that you no longer cross my mind is a lie.
I need to work a lot on technique this summer… Counting, articulation, tone quality, keeping all pitches in tune…
Oh the wonders of being a flute, clarinet, and sax player.
Need Opinions
This summer, I’m planning on buying a new tenor saxophone, a YTS-62II. It is available in the typical golden lacquer, or a silver lacquer. The price difference between the two is very minimal, and the silver has a slightly brighter tone than the gold.
Which do you think I should get?
Some of the best songs on my iPod completely tear me down…
Summer Goals
I keep saying this has been a year of change. It really has been in so many ways. I plan on keeping the changes coming too:
1. Get fit. I have never put on much weight ever… But I have been starting to get a belly. Two years ago, when I trained for football, I practically had a six pack. Time to get that back, only this time keep it. I’m tired of being lazier than I should be.
2.Travel. I’m traveling with the band and choir to tour the East Coast (primarily NY) and it will virtually be my third time outside of Wisconsin and Minnesota. After returning from that, I leave three days later for Green Bay to practice for State Honors band on bass clarinet. I’m also hoping to visit my sister on the south end of the state, and hopefully watch Branford Marsalis or Tony Bennett (if it doesn’t cut too hard in my tenor sax money, college before them) I also plan on seeing a few drum corps shows.
3. Cleanliness. I live on a family farm that has been in the family since at least the ’60s, and probably earlier. Like most farmers in the area, it’s a mess! I can’t take it anymore. We have one more year on it before the mining company my gpa sold it to gets to mine it, and I go to college. My last memories of this place will not be of it being a complete mess! It hasn’t been cleaned in years… And I’m giving myself two months to get it all clean. XD
4. Practice, practice, practice! I start my summer with playing with the Dean’s List Jazz Orchestra for a wedding. Clarinet and alto sax. The next week, I march with the tenor, and also play tenor for the community at Music in the Park that Thursday. Two weeks later I’m working bass clarinet in Green Bay as I mentioned earlier. That’s a lot of clarinet and sax. I also have to fit in piano, flute, and possibly trumpet (if I find a cheap one.). My aunt wants me to pick up drums too… Would be worth it, but I don’t know if I’d have time to still have friends if I did. XD
Yup… 4 big missions. Accomplishable? I think so. I have the work ethic. Now just to erase the procrastination habit.

“In my Solitude…”
You haunt me. Your beautiful face shines in the moonbeams. I hold you close to me with hopes you will never leave… Only for you to leave me each morning when I wake. Damn dreams…
